The Baaka Cultural and Art Center is a not-for-profit corporation and is a registered Charity with Designated Gift Recipient (DGR) tax-deductible status. The Baaka Cultural Centre Wilcannia Aboriginal Corporation is a CATSI-registered organisation (Corporation (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act of 2006).

With your support, the Baaka Cultural and Art Centre will deliver on its vision to empower the people of Wilcannia to see opportunity and a positive future.
The dedicated art centre will provide a special place for emerging, mid-career and established artists to create art and develop their craft.
The Centre will tell the story of both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people of Wilcannia.

The Baaka Cultual and Art Centre will become the lifeblood of the commuity, with a language lab to to help preserve local dialects and Barkintji/Paakantji stories in language and continue the strong oral traditions of the community.

There are a number of ways you can support the Baaka Cultural Centre in a meaningful way:

$50, $75 or $100 helps us support our youth and the centre.

$1,000 supports materials for 6 emerging artists to generate artworks.

$2,500 supports training for 2 locals in cultural tourism development with cultural activity tours, ranging from river walks to native plant tours and bush tucker walks.

$5,000 supports an artist-in-residence for 2 months to seek inspiration and explore their heritage in the art centre.

$10,000 supports the Baaka language nest, ensuring local language and intergenerational storytelling is kept alive to celebrate and inspire future generations.
